Common features between chess.com platinum vs diamond membership
In this section, I will cover common features between chess.com platinum and diamond membership. there are some features that are common in all three memberships such as no ads, analysis feature, etc. I will not cover these features.
Game review – In a game review feature, you will get a detailed analysis. chess.com artificial intelligence will tell you about your mistakes, blunders, weak moves, strong moves, brilliant moves, etc.
Unlimited puzzles – If you are interested in solving a lot of puzzles then this feature is for you. in this feature you will get unlimited puzzles to solve. The Chess.com puzzle feature is definitely better than other websites. On other websites, I found some answers are wrong and you get vague puzzles. Also If you don’t have any membership, still you can use the feature daily puzzle and keep your mind sharp.
Unlimited puzzle rush -Puzzle rush is a flagship feature of chess.com. In puzzle rush, you will get 3 or 5 minutes and you have to solve puzzles as many as you can. This feature is perfectly suitable for beginners to Grandmasters. I will highly recommend you to spend 30-45 min daily on the puzzle rush.
Different Features
Unlimited Lessons – You can solve unlimited lessons in diamond membership but it is a limit of 5 lessons per day in Platinum membership. Lessons on chess.com are a good way to improve your chess. chess.com offers lessons from beginner to master players. Here is the list of some of the best lessons.
- How To Beat A Grandmaster
- Every chess tactic explained
- Mamedyarov’s Opening Surprises
- How To Play The Sicilian Kalashnikov
- How To Swindle Your Opponent
- Play Like A World Champion: Botvinnik, Smyslov And Tal
Unlimited Video Library
This feature is exclusively available for chess.com Diamond members. In the video library, you will get access to thousands of videos curated by Masters. They post some videos on youtube also.
If we compare video library with chess24 then I will say chess.com is somewhere lacking. Mostly chess.com is targeting the beginner and intermediate players in video series and there are not enough series available for advanced players. I will highly recommend you to buy a platinum membership first and then go to a diamond membership. Platinum membership is totally worth money.
Here are some of the best videos on chess.com
- Rapid Games: Carlsen vs Nepomniachtchi
- My Best Game: GM Raunak Sadhwani

- Top 10 Games Of The 1990s: Shirov’s Miraculous Chess Swindle–Kramnik vs Shirov 1994
When you should purchase a Platinum Membership?
I will recommend you to purchase a Platinum membership first if you are any kind of player. Platinum membership is totally worth money. If you like Platinum membership then you can always upgrade to Diamond membership. Because if we compare Platinum membership and diamond membership then there is a difference of $50 which I think it’s pretty compared to services they are offering in diamond membership. you will get almost all features in Platinum membership except the video series.
When you should purchase a Diamond membership?
If you are a beginner or intermediate player and want to improve your chess by watching videos then I will recommend you to purchase a Diamond membership. If any chess.com staff is reading this article then I will suggest them to increase Platinum membership price or reduce Diamond membership price.
